Carissa Jackson is a Licensed Massage Therapist, practicing since 2003. She has such a passion for sharing knowledge about anatomy and physiology that she became a massage instructor for Heritage Institute and the Florida School of Advanced Bodywork, where she taught numerous modalities as well as CPR & First Aid for 7 years, collectively. Currently, she is the evening massage instructor at Alpha School of Massage.
Carissa has always had an interest in health and safety. At the age of 10, she took the Red Cross Babysitting class, and one of her first jobs was as a ‘Professional Rescuer’ lifeguard. Today, she teaches the Child & Babysitting Safety Certification for Safety First.
Carissa urges that understanding and preparedness is key; if utilizing awareness and prevention, one may be fortunate enough to not have to put too many of these important skills to the test, but he or she can definitely make a difference when it counts! She also believes it is never too early or too late to learn these valuable techniques, as she has taught her children and her parents. Carissa loves being able to share this information with real-life scenarios, and seeing the glimmer in students’ eyes when they realize how they can help potentially save lives, too.
